10% of Profits Go Towards Educating Girls in Africa
More and more people around the world are now increasingly being aware of the health benefits of natural, botanical-based, organic superfoods. It is no secret that herbs and superfoods contain unique antioxidants, essential minerals and vitamins, and even medicinal properties that help remove toxins from the body and boost immunity levels.
No one has to go out and physically hunt for fresh herbs like in the ancient times. In today’s world, this access is made easy for us, thanks to companies like Herbal Goodness that offer all the goodness from special herbs (just as the name aptly suggests!) to help us improve our well-being. Or you could plant the herbs yourself, of course.
But what exactly is Herbal Goodness and what makes them so great?
The company was founded by a Nigerian doctor named Dr. Unoma Okorafor who was displeased with the way the papaya tasted in America. She realized that the fruit tasted significantly different from what she was used to eating while she was growing up in her native land of West Africa.
The reason for this difference in taste was because papayas all over the US that were readily available in supermarkets were actually made from GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) sources, while what she ate in her childhood were wildly grown and organic.
Their Vision, Mission & Values
This led her to embark on a journey where nature’s superfoods and herbs could be more readily and organically available in the US. This way more people could benefit from the highest quality nutrients to support natural health and wellbeing.
Besides manufacturing premium quality superfoods for all, the company is a WBENC certified woman-owned business that respects Mother Earth through its fair trade practices.
They also give 10% of their profits to support the education of girls in Africa through the WAAW Foundation! Not only that, they provide educational scholarships to children of their female farmers and support female empowerment initiatives that provide non-traditional, flexible work solutions for mothers.
Their Product Categories:
USDA Approved Organic Products
Herbal Goodness uses USDA organic certified superfoods in many of its supplements. Now, what the heck does this mean? This basically means that the fruits are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing soil quality, pest and weed control, use of additives, etc.
No harmful chemicals are used in the products manufactured at Herbal Goodness. This means that the company uses only natural soil, fertilizers, and pest repellents when growing an organic product.
All of their product photos show labels with the USDA certification and the products are manufactured in a USDA certified facility. You can easily request a copy of their organic certification by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Typically, they reply within 24 hours within their hours of operation.
Superfoods For Hair Growth
When it comes to hair health, Herbal Goodness offers a variety (notice how I did not say “wide variety”?) of products to choose from. The superfoods they offer are not exclusive to hair; instead, the hair benefits these superfoods provide are a by-product of them. Let’s look at what options I am referring to.
Herbs For Hair Health
Certain herbs provide exceptional health benefits for hair and if you are interested to know which ones, you can read my post on herbs that grow hair faster.
At Herbal Goodness, the herbs with the highest amount of hair benefits are moringa, bamboo leaf, guava leaf and they also have a supplement called Hair Skin & Nails Complex. These hair-healthy herbs are quality tested to be safe from microbial contamination and heavy metals.
Hair, Skin & Nails Complex
Each of these capsules contain the highest concentrations of natural silica (about 70%), a building block of collagen protein that helps hair and nails grow strong and long. It prevents hair shedding and provides a shiny, silky hair texture.
The ingredients bamboo leaf extract, vitamin A & C, horsetail extract, guava leaf extract, turmeric root extract, and biotin all contribute towards improving bone and joint health as well as giving you a glowing skin.
Bamboo Leaf Tea
Bamboo leaf tea is made from 100% bamboo leaves that contain the richest source of natural silica to promote healthy hair growth. Bamboo leaves help to support the body’s detoxification process, aid in digestion and strengthen the bones and teeth.
If tea is not your favorite choice of drink, you can even try bamboo leaf in extract liquid form. It comes with a glass dropper and rubber bulb for easy dispensing, which makes it easy to carry in your purse or gym bag for a convenient daily use on the go!
Guava is filled with antioxidants and provides a balance of vitamins and minerals that support the digestive system. Guava Leaf supplements are known to assist the metabolic processes, help burn excess fat, provide blood sugar support, and prevent acne and sun damage on skin.
Lastly and most importantly, guava leaf (tea, extract, or powder form) helps with hair regrowth and hair loss support.
Also, can I tell you how amazing this fruit tastes? Imagine how great it will taste in your smoothies or even salads!
Moringa is a true nutritional powerhouse packed with 27 bio- available vitamins and minerals, 46 active antioxidants, and 21 amino acids. If that is not enough, moringa is 30% vegetable protein with all 9 essential amino acids making it a perfect protein source for those on a vegan diet.
The herb helps to improve the thickness of hair, helps fight harmful toxins, keeps the nervous system healthy & functioning at its best. Every part of the moringa tree is edible!
Herbal Goodness offers moringa as an organic herb powder (4oz), which is currently sold out. However, moringa is available as a liquid extract in 2 different sizes: 1oz or 12 oz. You have the option to buy each in bulk as well.

Aside from herbs for hair, Herbal Goodness has a lot of other healthy super foods that they promote as medicine and not medicine as food. Get it? Cool word play there, don’t you think?

Pros & Cons
What is a review post without a pros and cons section? Like all great reviews, allow me to break down my likes and dislikes about this brand and its organic products.
1.Commitment to Sustainability
Herbal Goodness uses eco-friendly processing technology to create products that have no toxic waste and harmful environmental by-products as well. The brand uses less raw botanical materials and less BTU’s of energy to create highly concentrated products.
Aside from cultivating fruits in a socially responsible and sustainable manner, they pay special attention to support their farmers and their families through fair trade practices.
2.Leaf Extract is 10x More Potent
The liquid extract is 10 times more potent than a 1:1 herbal extraction ratio. This means that for 1kg of the extract, 10kg of raw material is used. This can get pretty confusing but basically, the higher the ratio, the more potent the product is.
Usually companies use a 1:1 or a 4:1 extraction ratio.
3. Teabags Are Bleach-Free
The different teas available at Herbal Goodness come with individually wrapped teabags that are bleach-free with a string attached to them.
4. Shelf Life of 3-4 Years
The teas and supplement capsules have a shelf life of 3 years, while the glycerin-based liquid supplements have a shelf life of 4 years. Usually, the shelf life of herbal teas is around 18 months.
5. Zero Alcohol In All Products
Both the liquid products and capsules from Herbal Goodness are completely alcohol-free. This means that there is no alcohol in the extraction process of any of their products, which makes it safe for even children to consume!
6. Free Resources: Recipes & eBooks
Herbal Goodness offers a long list of free recipes and educational eBooks on all things herbs, super fruits, and well-being! These include but are not limited to a Keto diet guide for beginners, mindfulness & guided sleep meditation, healthy green smoothies recipes, and so much more!
I have tried a few of their smoothie recipes and have loved learning about how it was positively impacting my health. You can find all this free resource and more on their website. The only way to get them is to sign up to their newsletter.
1. Stock Issues
A few items tend to sell out more frequently than others and restocking of these items are quite delayed. From a health standpoint, if someone relies heavily on a certain product from Herbal Goodness to fulfill their health needs, it can really hinder their journey to recovery or wellness.
These delays are also a good way to lose repeat customers, unfortunately.
2. Free Tea Samples: US Addresses ONLY
Herbal Goodness gives out free samples of their teas to the first 100 people every month who fill out a request form on their website. Unfortunately, only those that live within continental US qualify for this offer!
This really is disappointing because it could have been a great way to increase acquisition for the company, had they made it available to more parts of the world.
3. Limited International Shipping
As a small business, Herbal Goodness does not offer worldwide shipping. Some of the countries they do not ship to currently are:
French Southern Territories
India (1 of 37 states)
The United Arab Emirates
For a complete list, visit their website or contact their customer service.
Clearly, the pros outweigh the cons for the products from this awesome company. Personally, I love that they are green, care about our environment and use recycled materials where available. They support organic farming and empower the farmers and their communities through fair trade practices.
Additionally, the fact that they use USDA approved organic products and how sustainably they source them goes to show their commitment to quality.
If you agree with me and are ready to support the Herbal Goodness brand, you can check them out by clicking on the link below.
Unless you live outside of the United States, the cons I have listed don’t really matter and neither do they apply.
In all fairness, it is understandable to have products go out of stock or incur delays in restocking when a business is just starting out. Growing and cultivating herbs and fruits is no easy task and one that takes a good amount of time. Having said that, I am fine to wait for a quality product if it means it will solve a health concern for me- quality over quantity, ladies (and gents)!
